North-Western Expeditionary Force
Unit Notes
| 1 |
The topic of the North West Expeditionary Force is quite confusing. The official history barely mentions it! |
| 2 |
Massy's dispatch in the London Gazette clearly shows that when he issued his first orders to NWEF, he did so as GOC-in-C of V Corps, which leads to the conclusion that HQ NWEF was formed from HQ V Corps. |

The PRO records in Kew (National Archives) also state that V Corps was formed in May-June 1940 from HQ NWEF! |
