1 Brünn was the German name for the Czech city of Brno in Bohemia and Moravia (by strange coincidence the Bren gun was named after this city as that is where it was first designed!).
2 On 01 September 1939, HQ of this Army controlled 8 Army, 10 Army and 12 Army in the southern sector of the Front for the campaign against Poland. German War Diaries refer to this HQ as Army Group South
