1 Formed 1745 as a company of Renfrew Militia which became a regiment in 1793
2 In 1796, redesignated West Lowland Fencibles Militia
3 In 1855, became The Prince of Wales's Royal Regiment of Renfrew Militia
4 In July 1881, the Corps full title was originally Princess Louise's (Sutherland and Argyll Highlanders), this soon became Princess Louise's (Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders)
5 In January 1921, the official title of the Regiment was changed to be The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Princess Louise's).
6 Not embodied in the Second World War
7 Officially disbanded in April 1953
