4 The Devonshire Regiment
4 (1 Rifle Volunteers) Battalion The Devonshire Regiment
Unit Notes
| 1 |
Formed in 1758 at Exeter as 1 or East Devon Militia |

Frederick has the Militia Battalion (4 The Devonshire Regiment) converting to 3 Battalion The Devonshire Regiment on 28 June 1908 which seems a little odd given that a new 4 Battalion was formed on 1 April 1908 (so there were two battalions with the same number for three months). Therefore, to make matters clear, I have dated the conversion of the Militia Battalion as 31 March 1908. |
