There is some doubt over the exact formation date of the Division as the official histories talk about 2 NZEF rather than 2 NZ Division until October 1940 as the Division was very scattered until then. Confusion is further increased by the fact that the official histories casually refer to 2 NZEF as a "division" on occasion but never distinguish it from 2 NZ Division |
