Unit Notes

Not embodied in the Second World War |

Officially disbanded in April 1953 |

According to Frederick, the "old" 3 Battalion The Devonshire Regiment was disbanded on 15 July 1908 and was replaced as 3 Battalion by the former Militia 4 Battalion on 28 June 1908. This means that two different battalions numbered 3 Battalion existed at the same time. |

I have used the date of 31 March 1908 to convert the Militia 4 Battalion to the Militia 3 Battalion to avoid confusion between the new "volunteer" 4 Battalion and the old "militia" 4 Battalion. |
